Rabbi Bengelsdorf and the Doomsday Clock

Have you ever heard of Rabbi Bengelsdorf? I posed this question on Yahoo! Answers today. Just curious if anyone has an answer for me?

Scientists of the Bulletin of Atomic Scientist have moved the minute hand of the symbolic Doomsday Clock ahead 2 minutes. It is now 5 minutes to midnight. Midnight being total mass destruction of the world. They point to nuclear proliferation and global warming as the reason for moving the minute hand ahead.
