Bad Art Friday
March 13, 2008In honor of St. Patrick’s Day which is coming on Monday I present the work of Rita Duffy from Gormley’s Fine Art, Ireland:
Born in Belfast in 1959. She received her BA at the Art and Design Centre and then her MA at the University of Ulster. After finishing Art College Duffy began working as a sign writer, then a set painter for the Lyric Theatre, Belfast.
Context, authenticity and draftsmanship are fundamental to Duffy’s work. Her work is a response to both personal and shared experiences, which have arisen from the socio-political situation in Northern Ireland. Much of her work is autobiographical, addressing her experience growing up Catholic and Female in the North.
You know it’s not that bad…

I’m sorry, but I think the collar study is the best of all three, but that’s not saying much. Not overly fond of her work.
That Big Brother cemetery kind of creeps me out.
I will vote “Bad Art” for these!
Heey I Love Ritas Art Work.
