“I Wuv You”

February 18, 2008
mccain_bush-hug.jpg

If there’s anybody out there that doesn’t realize that McCain ISN’T the guy who’s going to change things for the better then concentrate on the photo above.

I’m not a Republican, or a Conservative and I wouldn’t vote for McCain but I hear things. What things, you ask? Well, there are some Democrats who say that they might vote for McCain. That they could live with McCain for the very reasons Republicans are all upset about McCain: he’s moderate, he’s a centrist.

Well, I’m here to tell ya he’s NOT a moderate. Does a moderate say we have to stay in Iraq another 100 years if necessary? He’s NOT a centrist. Would a centrist support overturning Roe v. Wade?

My fellow Democrats and Independents, don’t be fooled!

Zombies: Bush scare tactics

August 8, 2007

Via Alternet:

Bush: “Zombies Are a Danger to Your Children” [VIDEO]

Posted by Adam Howard at 7:00 AM on August 8, 2007.

According to President Bush, “This is the greatest challenge of the 21st century.”

Probably sometime in mid-to-late 2008, President Bush will be really desperate to find some cause on which to create some shred of good will with the American people. The video to your right suggests, it could be a war waged on “zombies who want to eat our brains.” Check out the video at bottom to find out who is the real threat “to our children.”

Was Bush’s watch stolen?

June 13, 2007

maryt-1287.jpg US officials have denied that President George W Bush’s watch was stolen as he shook hands with well-wishers during a recent visit to Albania.

Mr Bush was wearing a watch when he was glad-handled by dozens of enthusiastic Albanians on Sunday.

Moments later, the watch was gone from his wrist.

Here’s the YouTube video. You decide.

Bush wants to attack Iran?

February 5, 2007

maryt-1281.jpgThe Plank is asking :

Is it paranoid to think that the White House is planning to attack Iran–and soon?

Well, no, I don’t think so… Here are some other links to stories that comment on such a scenario:

AlterNet begs “War on Iran: Stop Bush Before He Starts” It claims:

“Bush is following the same course he chose in the run-up to war in Iraq: he insists that war is “a last resort” yet puts in motion the engines of war.”

The Guardian says that, a “coalition of UK charities, religious bodies and thinktanks warned that an attack on Iran would be a “disaster”.

U.S. News and World Report mentions a “Wag-the-Dog Attack Worries Democrats.” The US News Political Bulletin has learned Democrats on Capitol Hill are increasingly concerned that President Bush will order air strikes against targets in Iran in the next few months or even weeks.

So what do you think?

Congress vs. President on Iraq War

January 31, 2007

pinpop1.jpgFound these zombie pins on The Short Fat Kid.

Got the picture from Pinpops the web site that sells them. Take a look at them. Who thinks up these things?

Now for more serious stuff:

“Congress is gradually working its way toward putting limits on President Bush’s ability to use U.S. troops in Iraq” reports Tom Curry for MSNBC.

John McCain, though, had this to say: ““I read the Constitution as the Congress having two authorities in this area; one is to declare war and the other is to cut off funding. I’ve never seen anything in the Constitution that says that Congress can set the level of troops (in Iraq or some theater of war): that’s why we have one commander in chief. I’m astonished that people (in Congress) would think they have the knowledge and expertise as to what specific troop levels should be.”

Well, Sen. McCain, what makes you think Mr. Bush has any better knowledge or expertise than, let’s say, Joe Biden, Chuck Hagel or Ted Kennedy?

P.S. On Tuesday, Sen. Russ Feingold chaired a hearing that looked into Congress’s constitutional war powers. Feingold has introduced a Senate bill that would ban the use of government funds to continue the deployment of U.S. troops in Iraq six months after enactment. Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., has a similar proposal.

Thomas Friedman and Bush’s “surge”

January 12, 2007

friedman-ts-190.jpgHere’s what Thomas Friedman said in the NY Times today about Bush’s “surge”:

“My reaction to the president’s speech was to recall a line from Bill Maher’s book about the war against terrorists: ‘Make them fight all of us.’”

“Mr. President, you want a surge? I’ll surge. I’ll surge on the condition that you once and for all enlist the entire American people in this war effort, and stop putting it all on the shoulders of 130,000 military families, and now 20,000 more. I’ll surge on the condition that you make them fight all of us — and that means a real energy policy, with a real gasoline tax, that ends our addiction to oil, shrinks the flow of petro-dollars to bad actors and makes America the world’s leader in conservation. “

Mr. Friedman’s article tells it the way it should be in a tone that allows no argument.  He addresses Mr. Bush directly and fearlessly. He actually offers a plan for getting out of Iraq…
